Things are really busy in my life with work opportunities, travel, family obligations and the like so posting may or may not be as frequent as I would like.
As you remember I primarily work out of my home gym (picture here) located in the garage. With a massive cold front in my neck of the woods, I’ve been bringing my barbell inside the house since my hands don’t like holding on to that frozen hunk of metal. Holly didn’t like it when I suggested putting it in our bed under the electric blanket (…which was a recent present for the Mrs. and is totally awesome in these months). My barbell get’s a lot of action, nice and warm is better for moral in those 5:30 am winter workouts.
Besides a cold fricken’ home gym, I’m not a big winter outdoor guy. I’ve been skiing once, I don’t own a snowblower (actually prefer to shovel for some reason), don’t really ice skate… generally hibernate inside during this time. Instead of seeing all the sexy pajamas (or lingerie if you want to call a spade a spade) she got for Christmas, I see warm, snuggly type pajamas around the bedroom. Thankfully, those come off fairly readily these wintery nights (again, electric blanket helps), but a cold room doesn’t do much for playtime above the covers.
Add to that the fact that Dum-Dum the dog takes her sweet-ass time going to the bathroom in the winter makes it less than awesome as I’m the more frequent dog walker in our house. This dog likes to climb snow-banks to take a dump or pee, not sure what the heck she’s thinking…actually, her Dum-Dum name is very fitting as she doesn’t think very much. Today me and the kids are home (MLK holiday) and so far I’ve caught Dum-Dum on top of the bathtub trying to steal the kids bath toys and digging up a plant on a plant table. She’s half retarded, like the Forest Gump of dogs.
So hopefully winter can keep going here without too much snow; Holly and I can keep the bed warm and the kids can continue to stay healthy as this weather gets warmer and days get longer. And Dum-Dum can start crapping a little faster in this frigid weather.
I’m much the same, minus the home gym.
I hate winter, I don’t skate, I don’t snowboard etc…
We take the kids sledding and that’s the extent of my outdoor “fun” during the winter.
Glad to hear your “barbell” is getting lots of action though, even in these cold winter months.
