We’re less than a day away from leaving on a vacation with our family so AMD will be on hiatus until sometime around mid-next week.
We’re piggy-backing a work conference and vacation together and pulling the kids out of school for a few days. Everyone is looking forward to it, but for those of us in busy work situations leaving projects and work in others hands can be very stressful. Just getting out the door prior to a vacation is problematic as you’re setting everything up for success and tying up loose ends.
On vacation itself, we typically try to do and see “everything” to try and maximize our time and money spent. This makes things as relaxing as participating in a decathlon. This time though, we have a few hard plans, some soft conceptual plans and some no-plan days. Hopefully it balances out to a fun time by all without too much stress. The biggest thing these days is unplugging from work, enjoying the moment and trying not to think of the mountain of work when you get back. That’s my plan – no checking work e-mails and trusting that things will be ok. See you soon.
