I didn’t start this site to make money. If I had to put a mission statement on here it would be to entertain, inform, educate and inspire related to the primary topics I discuss (health, fitness, sex, marriage, wealth, family, parenting, love). With that said, and is noted in the disclaimer tab above, I have been and will continue to be an Amazon affiliate. That means if you happen to click through one of my links, or on the new banner on the right side, and actually buy something from Amazon, a very small percent comes back to me. Last year, I was able to cover my website host fees from that, so I appreciate your support. This will be the only time I explain this or note the links so just bear with me this one time.
With that said, I’m not a shill for Amazon or anyone. I personally use Amazon a lot and is only second to Costco for non-specialty retail purchases. With a few exceptions, such as that Haribo sugar free gummi bears link a while back, what I link to from Amazon are things I’ve either read, used, purchased, or plan to use or purchase. I’m right on the same train as you guys. And as I usually say, for books, movies or music, if you’re able to find it at your local library, be frugal and do so. I may buy one or two print books every year, maybe another four or six kindle books, but I probably read 10-20 times that in books alone from the library. It doesn’t even compare.
Anyway, you’ll see two other affiliate links on the right. One is Robb Wolf’s e-books on Paleo stuff. Robb Wolf’s Paleo Solution is one of the few Paleo books we own and I think my wife has listened to close to all 200+ podcasts. Dude knows what he’s talking about and I’m a Robb Wolf supporter as I think most could really benefit. He’s got three books: 30-day transformation, paleo on a budget and paleo dining out. Buy ’em if you want, or don’t.
The other link is from my favorite nuts and bolts guy on writing a book and making it look good – Joe Friedlander of Book Designer.com. He’s got tons of articles on writing, formatting, grammar, stuff like that for those interested in watching the sausage be made. If you may have the gumption to go after writing one yourself, his templates will at least allow your self-made Masterpiece to look good enough to past muster in e-book or print form. I’m using one of his templates now and it saved me a lot of time getting things looking good and I learned a lot in the process. I even recommended him to my brother who is interested in writing a children’s book. Obviously, a small or zero subset of my readers would want to use that service, but in case you do, there you go.
I’m not exactly raking it in from this stuff, but are services I actually use myself. I’ve been approached by other advertisers but have no interest in shilling other products, and you likely won’t see too many other links going forward.
Thanks again for continuing to read, and I really appreciate the passive support that some of you have provided in simply clicking through to Amazon thus far.
