When you are a writer (I don’t consider myself one BTW), or even a regular dude or chick, when you get motivated you have to harness that shit. You have to ride that wave and catch that lightning in a bottle fo sho. I saw Red Pill Wifery’s post today and told her the same.
I do housework fairly frequently, and once I get started, I keep going until I can’t, because once I stop – that shit ain’t happening until tomorrow at the earliest. Same with writing. Sometimes it’s like winter maple syrup – it is hard to tap that stuff. Other times, you can write half a dozen posts or a large number of book pages in a single day (like today). When that happens, you have to hold on until the inspiration is gone.
Same goes for working out, for getting better. Ride that inspiration as long as you can before you have to start grinding. Grinding is the time between inspiration, where you’re still working, but not with much enjoyment in present time, but with an end-goal in mind. When you grind, you know it’s the best for the long term even though in the short-term it kind of sucks, and it will pass until the next inspiration catches you. Then it’s on again. That’s life.
