Anyway, BirdsNest is 8 years old, and we think this is probably the last year for Santa Claus. Holly thought she saw a weird look in her eye when she mentioned something about Santa recently. We’ve also been hearing a few innocent questions on how babies are made. Not sure what the appropriate age for a more frank discussion, hopefully a few years yet. I know it’s something I’ve mentioned here already. We’re going to be honest and age appropriate. Most of you have probably seen the Julia Sweeney bit on telling her daughter the birds and bees:
Anyways, any advice on the Santa thing? When to do it? Right before next Christmas? When my parents told me, I still believed, but they pulled me in before Christmas, or maybe it was Easter, and told me the truth. Sort of an end of an era, and a sign our baby is growing up. Makes me more than a little sad really.
