We all have to deal with all sort of stuff in our life that leave us less than whole after they occur. Slightly damaged, slightly unsure, slightly insecure, … or in some cases maybe more than slightly. I just heard that my mom has a tumor in her breast and will be going into surgery for a partial mastectomy today. Shit happens, it’s a fact. But how you react to that shit is the primary dictator of how happy or crappy your life is. You can’t change or control the past, so you might as well focus on what you can do and control in the present so that your future is brighter.
Maybe your kid failed english.
Maybe your client or boss ripped you a new one. Maybe you’ve been eating like shit and you’ve gained ten pounds of sloppy fat. Maybe your wife is ignoring your efforts for a sexy time. Maybe you lost 25% of your net worth in the stock market. Maybe you lost your job. Maybe you got injured.
What are you going to do about it? Pull yourself off the ground and make today better than yesterday. Make a Plan, Execute the Plan. Stop feeling sorry for your life. Stop playing the victim. Control what you can control and don’t spiral further down the drama hole. Things will get better with right mindset, choose to be better.
You still have time… a whole lifetime left to be a better person, to react better, to behave better, than what you have been. Minor improvements each day. You can still totally redeem yourself.
