The whole car buying thing is a great illustration of the relatively recent dynamic change in our relationship. Every car that Holly and I have purchased together I’ve generally deferred to her on what type, style, etc. we ended up with, and she ALWAYS got the new car. I didn’t really care honestly, and she cared a lot more about having a newer car model than I did so I deferred. The last car we purchased was new, so she was fine still driving that and my car was 10 years old with 160,000+ miles and was starting to have issues. This time, I took the entire process over, and did things my way. Holly has grown as well and deferred to me for the entirety, from selling my old car (Craigslist) to test driving and financing and everything. She was not involved except to trust in my decisions and to pick me up after I sold my car the day after I listed it. She was not so subtly trying to get me to get a newer model of her car, but I went my own way and ended up with a 2013 Honda Accord (LX – base model) which at $20,876 (Costco price – pretty good deal) was exactly what I needed and is utilitarian and affordable for our family.
I purchased Athol Kay’s new book the The Mindful Attraction Plan on Kindle
yesterday and my initial thoughts are that it is awesome. As much as my mind was blown open by his first book, this one takes it another step and delves into a power/energy structure that I’ve believed in for the last 15 years. He more eloquently states it in pretty basic and everyday ways on how he sees this and how raising one thing in your life starts a series of events that leads to positive energy throughout your life. It’s really good so far after a chapter or two, and I’ll do a proper review when I wrap it up. He’s refined his thought process since MMSL and is finding his groove as an author.
