I’ve had a bit of a rough spring here. I lost a month of lifting with a staph infection that lead to hand surgery and then after I was finally back into a rhythm and getting my lifts close to where they were before I wrecked my knee pretty good rolling BJJ. Had the MRI late last week and was diagnosed with Grade 2 MCL Tear (sprain). So that means no squats, no deadlifts, no olympic lifting, no running, no rowing… none of the things that made up a big part of my programming. Instead…
It sucks. I’m able to do hang power cleans and hang power snatches, overhead work, bench, curls, pullups, kettlebell swings, etc. My legs and ass and calves are all still proportional, but not lifting two months out of three have put me in a rough spot. I am able to get more in depth into my upper body workouts though and do some exercises I usually don’t have time for, so expect to get some benefit out of the situation. Unlike my hand surgery and MRSA which was scary as heck and mentally disconcerting, I’m not worrying too much about it, this is the hand I was dealt. Just funny I’ve had to go the route of a Meme that I make fun of on a regular basis, bro. Hopefully my legs don’t atrophy too much in the next month or two until I’m back at it.
