I saw this article on Yahoo! yesterday and had to laugh. Loudboy and Birdsnest are big lego fans. I’m sure they would have cried had they seen this sexist sticker:
Josh Stearns, a father of two young sons living in western Massachusetts, posted photos of a set of LEGO stickers on his Tumblr account. Stearns, who had just begun introducing the “diminutive building blocks” to his 4-year-old son, was appalled by the image of a hard-hatted construction worker waving at an unseen passersby, shouting “HEY BABE!”.
“I was so disappointed to see the brand affiliated with a product that normalized street harassment and cat-calling,” he wrote.
Oh the travesty! I love the comment section:
wow…can you imagine that? a man making a pass at another human being. We all know men are truly robots and just bring home a paycheck then sleep and then back to work… When a woman says, “Hey there, tiger.”, that’s OK; nothing wrong with that… after all, she is a feeling, sensuous entity… But a man try that? Forget it… What a stupid country we’ve become…
At least it didn’t say “Nice Rack!”
Immediately after posting his disgust with the situation, Josh Stearns immediately retreated to the bathroom and peed sitting down.
Shouldn’t he be doing laundry or the dishes. Sure bet the Wife’s not happy with him playing with the kids LEGO’s while she’s working.
I’m sure that if it had been a gay construction worker calling out to another gay man, the company would now be in a discrimination lawsuit for taking it off the shelves.
Thanks to Bugs Bunny putting on a dress. Now I’m a drag queen.
This guy wears the pants in the house….capri pants….
At least there are some people out there who “get it”.
