Not sure if I’m in the majority here on these very important social topics, but am guessing I probably am. You may or may not be familiar with all these terms, but I’ll unpack them here.
VPL – Visible Panty Line
Nothing ruins a nice backside like seeing VPL. We’re checking out your butts ladies, you may not even realize. Whether you care or not is another question. A lot of women these days wear thongs, I’m guessing to eliminate the VPL. Thongs are sexy and show off the booty, all good things. Judgy Bitch did a nice little article here on some feminist railing against thongs and dropped a similar VPL picture in there. If you want to turn your man on or look more attractive in general for us butt-checking male chimps, dump the granny panties that show through your slacks or shorts and go commando (Hawt!) or thong.
FUPA- Fat Upper Pussy Area (though some guys I’ve seen have a fat upper penis area), a well worn phrase by this time.
There are stages of FUPA – the big one:
and the little one (I did confirm this was a fupa and not a baby bump):
Look, I get it that extra weight tends to gravitate towards different areas on our bodies. I get a big(ger) butt and a spare tire. FUPA’s are not attractive, so do what you can to lose them. But don’t despair, you can hide them with appropriate dresses and so forth. Higher waist skirts and dresses do a nice job:
Last but not least:
GLH – Girl Love Handles. This is where your pants or shorts have a too tight waist and the skin sort of rolls over the top (sometimes people refer to it as a muffing top, but I categorize that as more of a belly. This has to do with buying clothes that fit right). Skinny women are just as guilty of GLH as average ones. I believe Dan Savage coined the term with a column like this one. Just be honest and buy a waist size that fits correctly, so you can avoid this:
To conclude, we all have or body issues and faults. We can all continue to improve our weak areas, but in the meantime, we’ve got to work with what we’ve got. For women, as in men, dressing to disguise your weak points and to look nice is about buying the right clothes and the right sized clothes as well as wearing thongs more often.
Your welcome, from Alex the average married dad.
