Not sure what the recent site technical difficulties were about, but they seem ok now.
As I’ve mentioned, I’ve a relatively recent fan of Captain Power’s ramblings on his blog. As a regular reader of any type of book, I thought I’d give his book: Work out, lose weight, and stop being single a look, especially since the Kindle edition was only $3.
I didn’t really have much as the way of expectations for the book. I thought it would mostly be a how to get big (SWOLE) with low fat type diet or workout routine, as the dude looks pretty awesome. Because of that, I was pleasantly surprised at the funny tone and story he told in the book. While it appears he plopped certain blog posts right into the book (not sure since I haven’t dug too deep into his blog), he still weaves together a pretty cool story and one that had me laughing at various points. The story isn’t super extreme, but more of a regular guy dealing with various trials and tribulations of adolescence then adulthood searching for self improvement and a steady, normal girlfriend. He gets into some of the crazy ex-girlfriends he dealt with, red pill learnings, self improvement topics, and some basics on lifting and diet.
I was able to plow through it in a day or two, but based on price per fun story, it’s worth the investment especially for the kindle. Fun for those younger 20-somethings just starting out, or for those of us who grew up in the 80’s/90’s to reminisce about a simpler life and some of the freedoms we had growing up in that era. And the kindle edition is less expensive than one of those foo-foo Starbucks drinks. Check it out: Work out, lose weight, and stop being single
